What are some good ways to raise money for a family vacation?

That involves flying somewhere? As of now, my parents say we can't afford it, but we did used to go to places like California or Hawaii. I miss it a lot. Since I am getting a job, should I donate part of my paycheck every month to a "family vacation fund" and have everybody else in my family commit the same with their paychecks/allowance? We are a family of five. What are your suggestions? Any help would be great!

This is what my family does.here is our basic planning guide;
November/December decide where to go.(and how many days)
January make reservation( no money down at alot of places)
(also start puting up money each payday)
March pay for one night.
April pay for one night
May pay for one night
June pay for one night
Thus all 4 nights are paid for when we go in August
and the money put up each payday is used for meals and expenses.
