Trying to Get to You

Rock music is about courage, honesty, and innovation. Learning and growth echo in every beat of the drums. The lyrics are about not just surviving but succeeding. Farley’s story should have been a rock song. When she moved to Iowa with her ailing mother, Farley had no idea how the move would determine her future. Growing into a compassionate, responsible high school student with the introverted nature of a true artist, she found her life forever changed when she met the Satnins. The Satnins were a Catholic family with five children who lived on an organic farm and adored the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley. They welcomed Farley into their lives and as the years pass, it was in her relationships with the various members of the Satnin family that she found the courage to realize her own potential. Trying to Get to You is a gorgeously realized, sprawling tale that travels around the country and across oceans in the back of a tour bus. It is a journey to a place in the soul where music and art can paint together in brilliant harmony. Author Bio: Author Shea Adday has a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Minnesota. She has three grown children. Shea teaches art in the Minneapolis area and has been a visual artist for 20 years. Trying to Get to You is her first novel.

This is a cheesy News story I did about a really cool subject. I got to take a cruise out into the Pacific on a US Navy Guided Missile Frigate and watch an airshow that was put on from the deck of an Aircraft Carrier. Very neat stuff.

A Tale of the Yo-Semite (1872)

Therese Yelverton (c. 1832-1881) was a British Author. She married Major William Charles Yelverton, Viscount Avonmore in 1857, and became Therese Yelverton, Viscountess Avonmore. Her family’s small fortune was robbed by her husband, so she supported herself by writing about her travels. She spent the summer of 1870 in Yosemite, where she attached herself to the Hutchings family and John Muir. He escaped to the woods, but not before she had noted enough of his conversation and his ways of life to make him over into Kenmuir, the hero of her novel. After Yosemite, she continued to tour the world and write about her adventures. Her works include Zanita: A Tale of the Yo-semite (1872).
